If you’re going to trust me to guide your journey, you should know a little about mine.
I began climbing the corporate ladder 25 years ago as an accountant. I earned multiple degrees and accreditations and ended up at a national insurance company. But after a decade or so, I came to realize that what was most valued professionally didn’t align with my personal ethics; disasters and accidents impact people, not just the bottom line.
That was when I decided to leave the corporate world and join my husband, Shawn, full-time in his entrepreneurial endeavours. At first, it didn’t go well. Transitioning to entrepreneurship scared me and I lost confidence in that choice and my abilities. It didn’t take long before I returned to corporate accounting.
But I soon realized I had already become an entrepreneur. Before long, I was back working with Shawn on our own start-ups, a decorated IT management company and office-supply business. I also began pursuing my own passions.
One of those was gaining an understanding of how my personal history contributed to doubts around my professional choices. That’s when I began studying how past experiences and behaviours — including the language used to describe them — impact current states of mind. What I learned through years of study was a process to overcome negative life events by accepting them for what they were and knowing that their legacies don’t define who people are in the here and now — both personally and professionally.
That’s where Acuity Path comes in. It brings my journey full circle. My entrepreneur wellness program puts into practice the systems and processes I learned while building businesses with Shawn and in my own self-discovery and studies. Now, I support entrepreneurs in a way I believe in: By teaching them how to own their journeys and heal past traumas while learning the productivity strategies needed to make their businesses thrive.
It’s when those three things come together that entrepreneurs can truly live the lives they want. If that sounds like something you’re interested in, please get in touch.
