I get goosebumps when I watch those “America’s Got Talent” viral videos.  You know the ones that make you cry.  Or at least, they make ME cry.  Recently there is one that is going around, and once again, it made me cry.

This is the video:   https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=saved&v=542647830476904

There was something special about this one for me.  Special enough to blog about it, at least.

The artist has so much wisdom.  It is as if she has lived a lifetime and has found peace, or maybe it is acceptance.  Here are some quotes that got me thinking:

“I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me.”

“It’s ok if you’re lost, we’re all a little lost, and it’s alright.”

“It’s alright to be lost sometimes.”

“You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”

Wow.  I got goosebumps from all of this.  At the end of the video, she shares that she has a 2% chance of living and yet she keeps focusing on living her life, even if she feels a little lost.

As entrepreneurs, we live and take action based on a dream, a vision, or a feeling.  I guess in a way; we focus on that 2%.  Many would tell us we are crazy and encourage us to get a stable, reliable job.  Some days we even question our sanity.  Yet, every day, we get up and do it all again.  We do it even on the days where the dream seems more difficult than others.

I do it even in the swirl of a pandemic where some days I do feel more lost than on path.   I do it even when I am struggling to stay motivated because the heaviness has taken its toll.  I do it because the dream is more significant than me.  Because I believe I can make a difference.

I’ve written about choosing to be happy.  This video, her quote, reminded me again that I have to make a choice.  Life will always be hard.  Today it’s the pandemic.  Tomorrow will be something else.  Yet, it is my choice on how I react to it all.

I hope you take the time to listen to the video, listen for the message that you need to hear today.  It will be different for you than for me.  May you hear and feel whatever messages you needed to hear today.

If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.”
