Our quarterly planning workshop for Q2 is complete.

I usually do my planning the Friday after the workshop.  I did.  My planning is complete as well.

If you read my blog last week, you know we take our yearly goals and break them down into quarterly goals.  Using this quarter’s goals, we determine the strategies for those goals and then plan the action steps for each strategy.

Using “The Map,” we will have mapped the action steps into weekly tasks.

There is one last step.

Do you know what it is?

It’s in the title of this blog.

TAKE ACTION.

Seems simple right?

It is.

And yet, before you know it, the week is gone, and you didn’t work on any of your tasks.

Then 2 weeks is gone, 4 weeks, 2 months and finally the whole quarter.  The whole quarter with nothing to show for it.

Does this sound familiar?

If it does, this happens because you don’t SCHEDULE the time to take action.

This is why I teach you how to plan your week in our foundational courses.

Taking the time on Sundays to plan your work can have big payoffs.  When I plan my week, I start with high-priority items (as unique as you are).  For me, this is time with my husband and friends, Taekwondo, my morning routine time, and some rest/recovery.

After that, I put in my meetings, schedule and schedule my projects/goals – Rocks as I

Finally, I schedule my success activities (recurring activities).

If there is any time left, I will work on miscellaneous tasks.   Depending on the priority of these items (such as a CRA review), I may schedule the miscellaneous tasks earlier.

The goal is to make time for the highest priority items.

By scheduling the tasks for your goals, you ensure that you set aside time to take action.

This is how you move your goals forward.  How you get to the end of the week and record wins.

Do you schedule your week?  If you do, do you schedule in this order?

What works for you?  How do you ensure you move your goals forward?

Action is the foundational key to all success.
